Si esa precaria relación se evidencia en sus modos de leer, escribir y conocer, ¿Cómo indagar sobre el fenómeno? ¿Y cómo enfrentarlo pedagógicamente? Al mismo tiempo tienen una relación intensa con la Tecnocultura Digital (TCD) desarrollada en torno a las TIC, que ha transformado las prácticas de lectura y escritura y los modos de conocer dentro y fuera del ciberespacio. La CE y la TCD configuran dos modelos cognoscitivos presentes en la educación contemporánea, y aunque corren paralelos, no son necesariamente antagónicos. ¿Cómo investigar -y potenciar- ambos modelos en las prácticas pedagógicas para fortalecer la relación de los estudiantes con la Cultura Escrita, aprovechando la infraestructura de las plataformas digitales y los conocimientos ya consolidados de la Tecnocultura? La hipótesis está respaldada por la investigación etnográfica en el aula realizada por el autor. Además de un análisis crítico de las pruebas PISA y las pruebas Saber PRO, la indagación concluye en un diagnóstico en el que se especifican, se explican y se ilustran los problemas de lectura y escritura de los estudiantes.
