Der Kult um Rennmaschinen und -boote faszinierte schnell Jung und Alt. In vielen Regionen der Republik gründeten sich Motorsport-Clubs, in denen engagierte Sportler bald internationale Erfolge feierten. Doch lieber zum sportlichen Teil: Die Voraussetzungen am Samstag waren denkbar ungünstig; Ölzeug und Gummistiefel die wichtigsten Utensilien. Böse Zungen lästerten gar über das „typische Schweriner Regattawetter“. Gottlob sollte sich das am Renntag ändern. So war es zumindest von oben trocken, als pünktlich um 11 Uhr der Vorbereitungsschuss die fast 20 Piloten der Klasse J an den Vorstart rief. Die besondere Aufmerksamkeit der vielen Tausend Zuschauer galt vor allem den beiden aussichtsreichsten Anwärtern auf den Tagessieg. Sowohl Dieter König (Westberlin) als auch Hans Schulz (Neuruppin) hatten den „Petermänken“-Preis bereits einmal gewonnen. The basis of this publication is the "demopass" project (Passung im demografischen Wandel, matching and demographic change), which itself is based on a survey of more than 1,000 employees in five German companies. Against the backdrop of the demographic change the authors investigate five central, business areas: health prevention, continuous learning/professional development, cross-generation knowledge transfer, adaptability and age images within the company. The five areas are discussed on three levels each: that of the employees, that of the superiors as well as that of the company climate.
