Dissertation of Lech Raczyński is devoted to the presentation of data processing algorithms in the Jagiellonian PET (J-PET) scanner. The work describes original and inventive methods of signal and image reconstruction. I consider their development a great achievement due to the complex methodology of determining the position in the J-PET scanner based on measurement of the light pulses propagation time in long plastic scintillators. The author applies modern methods of data processing, like compressive sensing theory and total variation regularization technique. For their evaluation both experimental and simulation data of the J-PET scanner were used. This work is an important contribution to the field of PET. The presented results are crucial to the success of the J-PET project.prof. dr hab. Jerzy Smyrski, Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Applied Computer Science Jagiellonian UniversityLech Raczyński graduated from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology. His scientific interests lie in the area of compressed acquisition methods, data processing and analysis, artificial intelligence and probabilistic mathematics, and the application of these disciplines, in particular in medicine. Since 2012, he belongs to the group at the National Centre for Nuclear Research, which cooperates with the Jagiellonian University in the construction of a modern Positron Emission Tomography device.

This book contains the research on modeling bodies, cloth and character based adaptation performed during the last 3 years at MIRALab at the University of Geneva. More than ten researchers have worked together in order to reach a truly 3D Virtual Try On. What we mean by Virtual Try On is the possibility of anyone to give dimensions on her predefined body and obtain her own sized shape body, select a 3D cloth and see oneself animated in Real-Time, walking along a catwalk. Some systems exist today but are unable to adapt to body dimensions, have no real-time animation of body and clothes. A truly system on the web of Virtual Try On does not exist so far. This book is an attempt to explain how to build a 3D Virtual Try On system which is now very much in demand in the clothing industry. To describe this work, the book is divided into five chapters. The first chapter contains a brief historical background of general deformation methods. It ends with a section on the 3D human body scanner systems that are used both for rapid p- totyping and statistical analyses of the human body size variations.

It is common these days for a single system to host many domains, for example uniswa.com and mtn.com or acme .com may run on a single host machine, but behave as if they were on three different hosts. A system usually has a canonical domain, it has its usual or local domain name, and additional domains are configured as virtual domains. The purpose behind this work is to create a mail server solution based on Postfix that is based on virtual users and domains, i..e. users and domains that are in a MySQL database. The goal is to have completely virtual users and domains. bob@uniswa.com != bob@acme.com. This means creating a separate name spaces for reach domain.It will also demonstrate the installation and configuration of Courier-Imap (IMAP/POP3), so it can authenticate against the same MySQL database Postfix uses. The resulting postfix server is capable of quota which is not built into Postfix by default; the project will demonstrate how to patch postfix appropriately. Passwords are stored in encrypted form in the database. The work also covers the installation of Mail Scanner, SpamAssassin and ClamAv so that emails will be scanned for spams and viruses. The administration of MySQL database can be done through a web based tool Postfixadmin or can be done manually in the MySQL shell. Postfixadmin is a web based management tool created for Postfix that handles Postfix style virtual domains and users that are stored in MySQL. The squirrelmail web based email client is installed, in order to check emails from anywhere in world via internet. All installations were done in Fedora 5 Linux machine.
