Original antique Map of Persia, Arabia, Turkey in Asia, Afghanistan, Beloochistan, the poster features a map of the area marking cities, rivers, and islands, ornamental leaf pattern frame around the image. The map identifies the Peninsula of Katar. this is one of the earliest printed maps to show Qatar as a Peninsula, along with the capital city of Beha (Doha). Published in 1877 by S. Augustus Mitchell for "Mitchells New General Atlas". Samuel Augustus Mitchell Jr. inherited the Mitchell Company from his father in 1860. For over thirty years, the company had specialized in the production of school atlases and wall maps of America. They were one of the pioneers on engraving on steel plates.
