The wheels are outside of the wheel housing so they do not collect mud and act as a brake, you also do not need to carry around a stick to keep clearing the mud from the wheel housing.

This is my unit. Owned for 5 years lightly used less than 200 miles (look at the original tires) My club no longer permits walking (sucks) so the unit if no longer of use to me. Very small unit light easily fits in the trunk of my car. The 36 hole battery sadly did not charge up when I went to list it so it has died. Original charger is included. The unit works perfectly. GPS screen is bright and scratch and ding free. Feel free to ask any questions. I will miss using it and it deserves a happy home.
