Es ist nun zehn Jahre her, dass die erste Auflage dieses Buches allen Widerständen zum Trotz gedruckt wurde. Die Verleger meiner vorangegangenen Bücher weigerten sich, die Veröffentlichung dieses Buches auch nur in Erwägung zu ziehen, weil die Namen, die es nennt, und die Pläne zur globalen Diktatur, die es beschreibt, die Schwelle des Fassungsvermögens ihres „New-Age“-Geistes weit überschritten. Am Horizont sah man nur noch eine Staubwolke und fliehende Rücken, und vielleicht rennen sie ja noch immer. Wenn man bedenkt, wie erfolgreich dieses und nachfolgende Bücher waren, haben alle, die damals den Schwanz eingezogen haben, vielleicht eine wichtige Lektion gelernt: Vor den Dingen, die wir nicht sehen wollen, zu fliehen, ist nie eine Lösung. Es zögert lediglich – und oft nur für kurze Zeit – hinaus, dass wir den Dingen, die wir fürchten, die Kontrolle über uns entreißen müssen. Wie auch immer, um dieses Buch, das niemand wollte, veröffentlichen zu können, musste ich mir zunächst von einem Freund in Liverpool, David Solomon, 15.000 britische Pfund leihen und ein Unternehmen namens „Bridge of Love Publications” ins Leben rufen. Ich nahm auch die Hilfe weiterer Leute in Anspruch, die ich „zufällig“ in den Wochen zuvor kennengelernt hatte – darunter Alice Ferguson, der Künstler Neil Hague und der Buchdesigner Sam Masters, der auch alle nachfolgenden Bücher gestalten sollte. Es war eine Herausforderung, praktisch bei null anzufangen, doch mit den Jahren hat die Unternehmung Früchte getragen. Von der Ebene „dieser Welt“ aus betrachtet, ist es nach wie vor mein bedeutsamstes Buch und wird es wahrscheinlich bleiben, bis ich diese Welt der manipulierten Illusion eines Tages verlasse. In den zehn Jahren, die auf die Erstveröffentlichung dieses Buches folgten, hat sich herausgestellt, dass seine Themen und Vorhersagen sich bewahrheiten sollten und sich im heutigen Weltgeschehen widerspiegeln. Dazu gehört auch der oft angewandte „abgewandelte Hegelianismus“ bzw. das Schema „Problem-Reaktion-Lösung“, wie ich es nenne, durch das man im Verborgenen ein Problem erzeugt, für das die Behörden eine offizielle „Lösung“ bieten – in Form von gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen, um den weltweiten Faschistenstaat des Großen Bruders voranzutreiben, den die Bevölkerung ohne ein zuvor erzeugtes „Problem“ zurückweisen würde. Die grausamen Anschläge vom 11. September waren ein klassisches Beispiel dafür, wobei die Anschläge (das Problem) zu der Antwort „Es muss etwas getan werden“ (der Reaktion) führten, die zum Abbau grundlegender Freiheiten und Rechte und der Privatsphäre führte sowie zum durch und durch inszenierten „Krieg gegen den Terror“ (der Lösung). This book takes a reproductive justice approach to argue that surrogacy as practised in the contemporary neoliberal biomarkets crosses the humanitarian thresholds of feminism.
