<b>L'incroyable histoire d'un tailleur de pierre aux mains d'or dans l'Europe du XIXe siècle...</b> <b><br></b> <b><br></b>Au milieu du XIXe siècle, l’économie va mal en Europe. Rudolf, un jeune tailleur de pierre des montagnes du Voralberg autrichien, rêve de partir pour la France où il paraît qu’il y a de riches mines d’argent. <br>En fait, Rudolf a des « mains en or ». Ses mains font autant de miracles sur les pierres qu’il sculpte admirablement bien, que sur les corps, car il est un guérisseur. Il a hérité ce don de ses ancêtres.  <br>Quand il arrive en Franche-Comté, dans le pays de Belfort, sévit la seconde épidémie de choléra du siècle et qui décime la population. Le tailleur de pierre n’est pas vraiment le bienvenu, pourtant, il se met au service des Belfortains contaminés. Les médecins locaux vont alors tenter de le discréditer, de le faire jeter en prison, mais on croit encore aux miracles en ce milieu de siècle, et Rudolf guérira tant de gens qu’il sera innocenté. Le corps médical tentera de le faire disparaître, mais le renom de Rudolf sera tel qu’il trouvera des protections parmi le peuple. <br>Quand le guérisseur arrive enfin à Lure, il sera immobilisé par une importante crue de la rivière, Ognon. Pourtant il restera, commencera à créer des statues et tombera amoureux de Joséphine. Mais ce bref amour va lui faire à nouveau frôler la mort à cause de la haine de l’étranger et de la jalousie d’un chef de bande qui a des vues sur la jeune fille. <br> <br> <b>Un roman d'amour et d'aventures semé d'embûches !</b> <br> <br>EXTRAIT <br> <br>Ce samedi 8 avril 1837, Rudolf arrivait tout près du village lointain de la Franche-Comté que son père et son grand-père lui avaient décrit comme un endroit où il y avait des quantités de mines d’argent et de cuivre.
