"I geh net nach Zion" heult bei Schneuzels die Lintschi, während in der Gumpendorferstraße der Pepi wilde Konfessionsaus- und -übertritte plant. Aber schließlich ist Wien ohne Juden und nach mehrmonatigem Erholungsurlaub – unter der Last der Verantwortung waren die Nerven des Bundeskanzlers zusammengebrochen – kehrt Schwertfeger zurück und lässt sich berichten. Aber die Dingen laufen nicht so glatt, wie geplant: irgendwie müssen sich unter den verbliebenen Christen Tausende von Parasiten befinden, die Abstandssummen an die Juden in Gestalt von Auslandsüberweisungen zahlen und deren Vermögen privat an sich nehmen. Auch scheinen die Österreicher nicht willens oder fähig, die jüdischen Unternehmen zu leiten. Dumm auch, dass die Zahl der Konvertiten unterschätzt wurde – die Stadt entvölkert sich. Wenn es auch mehr Wohnungen gibt und Loden und Würstel als Kulturgüter wieder in den Vordergrund treten: Die Stadt ist bald völlig verarmt. Erst eine "interkonfessionelle" Liebe sorgt für die Wende und ein glückliches Ende, das Schwertfeger mit einer glänzenden Rede kürt: "Mein lieber Jude" …

The play continues to show the resolution of that situation, and also the event of Mr. Icky's other children leaving home and the impact it has on him.</p> <p>Fitzgerald's writing style in Mr. Icky is difficult to analyze as almost the entire story is comprised of character discussion. However, I would label his writing as very casual and humorous.
